Senior Leadership Team

  • Tom McGrath

    Tom McGrath has 20 years experience in international education with successful headships in Poland, Portugal and the Caribbean. A graduate of University of Limerick and Trinity College Dublin, he has also completed advanced studies in Applied Linguistics, International Education and International Relations. He is married to Beata and has two daughters, Eilis and Aniela.

    Tom manages whole school operations and provides the strategic direction. He is the key administrative liaison between the board and the senior leadership team.

  • Peter Davidson
    Head of Primary

    Peter Davidson joined the school in its infancy and has seen it grow and develop from a Nursery of a few pupils into a full Primary School. Peter trained to teach at the University of Cambridge, where he received a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. He also has a BA (hons) in History from the University of Winchester and a CELTA from the British Council. He has considerable experience with the Early Years Foundation Stage and KS1 curriculum, having trained specifically in Early Primary Education. He has taught children ages 4 to 7 in both nurseries and primary schools in the Cambridge area, and has taught the KS2, KS3 and KS4 curriculum in Exeter in the UK at an independent school. 

    Peter leads the Primary School (Nur-Y9) and is responsible for the overall management of the four phases of Early Years, Lower Primary, Middle Primary and Upper Primary. He has a responsibility for the school’s academic and pastoral systems and has played a significant role in developing the school’s values and pastoral programme. He also manages aspects of health and safety (education and procedures) and is the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead.

  • Mikołaj Gruziel
    Director of Administration

    Mikołaj Gruziel leads the non-Educational side of the school which includes facilities, health and safety (Facilities, Campus and Grounds), Marketing & Admissions, Catering, Transport and General Administration. Mikołaj has over 20 years of experience in the administration of British International Schools in Poland.

  • Sarah Leybourne
    Deputy Head of Primary / Head of Early Years

    This is Sarah’s second year at BSW following many years in the UK and Asia, including Harrow International School in Hong Kong,  Brighton College Bangkok and The British School of Manilla in the Philippines. She has a BA (QTS) in Primary Education with a specialism in Mathematics. Sarah has been teaching for 19 years and has experience across all year groups. In her current role as Deputy Head of Primary and Head of Early Years, she enjoys spending time with pupils from all age groups, teaching and supporting children in Mathematics and developing the Early Years programme in order to give the children the best possible start. She’s passionate about an holistic approach to education and providing personalised learning for each and every child.
